I've been porting xmpi to the wxWindows toolkit.

wxWindows is a multiplatform API/Toolkit. It is similar to QT, in the
sense that it uses the native widgets available on every platform. It
is Open Source. You can check it here:
www.wxwindows.org

The porting is far from complete, but now is the time to move to other
projects, so I'm releasing the work so far in public, with the GPL
license. I'd like to invite all that are interested to continue with
the project.
