LAM is no longer actively supported. Please have a look at using Openmpi.
There is an active and helpful community at www.openmpi.org

Subject: LAM: lam error
Dear expert
i want compile rosetta package with lam package.i install lam successfully, but when i compile the rosetta this error confused me:
/usr/bin/ld: /usr/lib/liblammpi++.a(
intercepts.o): relocation R_X86_64_32 against `__dso_handle' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC
/usr/lib/liblammpi++.a: could not read symbols: Bad value
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
mpiCC: No such file or directory
scons: *** [build/src/release/linux/2.6/64/x86/gcc/mpi/libutility.so] Error 1
scons: building terminated because of errors.
i send mail for rosetta group. they say this error is related to lam.
can you help me?
