If possible, it may be better to use Open MPI. LAM/MPI has no active
developers anymore; it may be difficult to track down and fix your
specific problem. Open MPI is actively developed or maintained and is
several generations ahead of LAM/MPI in terms of message passing core
capabilities, etc.
