I apologize for the recurrence of basic questions. I am trying to
compile LAM in Cygwin environment, and have not been successful so
far, so I'm trying to eliminate all possible sources of problems.
One thing I have noticed is that, during the configuration stage, the
Windows firewall blocks the "conftest" program. still, the
configuration goes on until the end. So, I was just wondering: how
important is the job of this "conftest" program? Is it important that
I turn off the Windows firewall during this process? In other words,
can this blocking be interfering with the compilation in any way?
