No. Like any library that uses MPI, ROMIO must be compiled against
the version of MPI you are using. So if you want to use ROMIO with
LAM/MPI, you have to compile it against LAM/MPI (and not MPICH2). If
you really need a recent version of ROMIO (which it sounds like you
do), you would be much better off using an MPI that ships with a more
recent version of ROMIO, such as Open MPI (where all the LAM
developers are spending their time these days) or MPICH2.
