It appears that we do have a limit in max path length in a couple of
places. It appears that on some operating systems, the limit can be
quite small (in the 1024-ish range). I think the only solution at
this point is to use a shorter path. LAM/MPI is in maintenance mode,
as the developers have moved on to working on Open MPI. I'd also
recommend taking a look at Open MPI:
