It should work even with the same bhost file. The daemons are started
as different users, have different ports and different temporary
directories (/tmp/lam-$USER@$NODE), so there is no conflict.

Is this just a new development of yours or was this same code tested
on a different parallel machine/cluster or with a different MPI
library ? Because this would point more towards a bug in your code
rather than a bug in LAM/MPI...

The daemon should never be started by hand, it's mpirun and possibly
hboot on a remote node (hboot also being a "stealth" binary just like
lamd) which know how to start lamd, so knowing the options to lamd
doesn't make much sense... I've been using LAM/MPI for many years,
integrated it with various batch/queueing systems and still don't know
lamd's options ;-)

Sure, I've been using many times applications compiled with LAM/MPI in
the way that you describe.
