Hi brian, you can not run lamboot on root. To run lamboot you have to used different login than root and you have to create public and private key for that login not for the root. example:brian login you have to create rsa keys in /home/brian/.ssh.General LAM/MPI mailing list wrote On Mon, 6 Nov 2006, shwetank gupta wrote: > Hi friends > While executing the command lamboot -v hostfile(hostfile contains the list of hosts to which I want to connect),It requires authentication for different hosts. > After giving the password for a host.I get an error: > ERROR: LAM/MPI unexpectedly received the following on stderr: > Permission denied, please try again. . > The command recon -v hostfile is executing perfactly, > but lamboot -v hostfile is troublesome. > > we also generate the public/private key pair in /root/.ssh/ > Plz anybody suggest me a solution. > > This is all which is generating when i execute lamboot -v hostfile >

It appears that you don\'t have your ssh keys setup properly for connecting to indi.mshome.com. Until you can run: ssh shwetank_at_[hidden] hostname without it prompting you for a password, you won\'t be able to boot lam. I\'m not sure why recon would be passing if you are using the same hostfile -- this is a problem that should cause both recon and lamboot to fail. Hope this helps, Brian _______________________________________________ This list is archived at http://www.lam-mpi.org/MailArchives/lam/
