I can't tell you what linux distro provides these things, but to
compile LAM/MPI, you will need:
- Full libc and system headers / libraries
- C and C++ compiler
- Fortran compiler (optional)
On the compute nodes, you will need:
- libc
- libutil
- libaio
- C++ standard library
- Fortran library (optional)
You might need more that this. For example, if you compiled with
threads support, you'll need the threads library. My guess is that
you'll need most everything but the C++ standard library to run just
about any application, so these shouldn't be too big of a deal.
