If the LAM 6.5.9 release came from an RPM (which it likely was if it
came with your Red Hat install), you would be best off to uninstall
the RPM. This can be accomplished with with:
rpm -evh lam
If this doesn't work, you might want to look through the Red Hat
documentation on removing RPM installed packages.
