I am unaware of any limitations that PBS + LAM puts on the stack size;
there is nothing implicit in the code that does this.

Note that there were quite a few bug fixes between 7.1.1 and the current
version (7.1.2). Although I somewhat doubt that it will change
anything, is there a chance that you could upgrade to 7.1.2 and see if
the situation changes?
