This is not strictly needed. You can as well provide a "nodefile" to
lamboot:
$ echo -e "node01 cpu=2\nnode02 cpu=2" > my_nodes
$ lamboot -v my_nodes
$ lamnodes C -c -n ;# to see what nodes are in the lam-universe
$ run stuff
$ lamhalt my_nodes

See the respective manpages for details.

That 10MBit Hub won't make you happy though. As already suggested, i'd
use a cross-cable (provided that your NICs can handle anything better
than 10MBit, that is).
