I don't understand why ssh is not a viable option? The newer
versions of lam/mpi still requires either SSH or RSH for lamboot to be
able to work, yes.
If you think ssh will be an option and want to set up ssh between
nodes so that they can communicate over ssh without passwords, refer
to :
