Michael -

What specifically is the relevant Variable? Can you provide specifics
and an example?

Thanks
chris

Subject: Re: LAM: lamboot without rsh/ssh

hello Jeff

the automatic detection of LSF works well beginning with lam 7.03

In previous Versions it works, but the relevant Variable has to be set
"manually" to LSB_JOBID. In lam 6.5.9 there are minor issues and setting
the variable is more stable than automatic detection.

Support with tight integration analogeous to TM Interface for PBS and
SGE failed, AFAIK.

I connected you directly to PLC development if i remember right, but
there was no final decision to support you with licenses needed for
development of a tight integration, if i remember right

The previous mail from PLC regarding lsgrun together with the automatic
LSF detection details a working and viable way to start lam/mpi Jobs
even without ssh.

But i follow you question: If it is not an very extremly sensible area,
there is no security gain in disallowing ssh.
There would be better concepts to secure a sensible server and allow
internal ssh connects.

regards
Micha
