Dear All:

I want to install lam on our cluster, its gcc version is 3.2, Linux deliver, Redhat 8.

I compiled the package without problem. However, when I run lamboot, I got

Segmentation fault

except for compiler such mpif77, mpicc, mpic++ etc, almost all commands such as mpirun, lamwipe, ... cannot work, they all fault with

Segmentation fault

Thus, I tried to install lam-6.5.7, that's ok! However, lam-6.5.7 does not support myrinet. My question is:

1. the version of gcc compiler for lam-7.1.2 must be higher than 3.2? The install.pdf for lam-7.1.2 says only 2.95 or later.

2. Or,could I solve this problem with e.g. some options by compiling? if yes, which?

3. If no, the only way to solve the problem is update gcc?

Thanks!
