You can either go back to 7.1.1, or stick with 7.1.2. If you stick with
7.1.2, then make sure you build on a file system that is mounted in
binary mode (as opposed to text mode), and also that /tmp is mounted in
binary mode. How this may be achieved is documented in the Cygwin
online documentation[1].
