Yes. It can run in a variety of environments. There are two basic
requirements for LAM/MPI to work properly:
- A user must be able to log into all nodes on the network without
a password prompt (e.g. via ssh/rsh)
- The same version of LAM/MPI is installed on all machines.

Clustering software like Oscar help when setting up a clustering
environment, but is not required for LAM/MPI.
