This is one of those not so fun areas. The simple answer is that you
configure LAM with --with-ib=DIR and --with-gm=DIR, where DIR is the
location containing IB or GM. The hard part is finding out those
values. I don't believe MPICH has a way of finding that out from the
user commands (to be fair, neither does LAM). There are some common
places to look, but it's usuaully pretty hunt-n-peck. If GM / IB are
completely installed and locate is properly configured, you can
always do some creative string parsing by looking for the vstat (IB)
and gm_board_info (GM) commands, and figuring out the prefix from there.
