Yes, 9.0.027 and .028 are more reliable than earlier versions. It's
difficult to understand why a link to an out of date version remains
available to people who take out a license. The long standing advice
still applies: Don't waste time on an initial release version mentioned
in the license transmittal or present on shopworn CDs, but instead open
up a support account and download a current version. There is a 32-bit
only version, in case you don't have 2 hours to spare to download on a
residential DSL account.

In my experience, the older 9.0 releases refused to run, when they
detected the presence of a gcc version newer than 3.4.x.
