Hi,Jeff and all:
I am back to this problem again now; actually it has been pending and
unsolved for a long time. I am eager to go through it this time, since I
have to take benefit from the integration of PBS with LAM.
1/Error information I got are:
[root_at_linux1 lam-7.0.3]# ./configure --with-tm=/usr/pbs>>look2
configure: error: Cannot continue
configure: error: Cannot continue
configure: error: cannot continue
configure: error: cannot continue
configure: error: *** Cannot find working libgm.
2/I could not find anything in the ¡°results¡± files that shows that
configure completed normally and is ready to run "make"( although I could
run make all install). Attachments please find the results file and
config.log created.
I noticed that there is a line at the end of config.log:
configure: exit 0
But from a successful case, it seems it should be configure: exit 1.
How could I make sure that configure is successful?
Could anyone kindly help me on this? I am using lam7.0.3.
If needing more information please let me know, thanks.
Best regards.

Just look at the output in your "results" file. It should show that
configure completed normally and is ready to run "make". The point of
my original mail is that you should not feel that configure failed if
something came out on stderr.

gm is [one of] the communications library[ies] for Myrinet networks.
Since you presumably do not have Myrinet hardware nor the gm libraries,
the gm component in LAM decided that it would not allow itself to be
configured/compiled/installed.

You can only interpret these in the context of the overall configure
script. Those "cannot continue" messages normally appear somewhere in
the middle of the output, showing that one particular portion will not
continue (e.g., gm). So if you had not separated the stdout and
stderr, you would have seen those messages in context and they would
have made sense. :-)
