LAM/MPI does not support the mixing of versions, including minor and
release versions. So 7.1.1 does not interoperate with 7.1.2. When
LAM detects such a situation, it will print an error message and
abort the job. If vendors need to ship a product linked against LAM,
they are encouraged to either ship with the LAM runtime or ship their
product linked against LAM as shared libraries. Our interface to
libmpi.so has not changed in the LAM 7.1.x series, so a product
dynamically linked against LAM 7.1.0 should work just fine if the
shared libraries and LAM runtime are 7.1.1 (or the upcoming 7.1.2).
Hope this helps,
Brian
