Hi all,

Gosh you're good. There were old 7.1.1 lam and lamd binaries hiding in
/usr/bin, so they were being executed before 7.1.2b26 was searched for.
Silly me. Not sure how they got there, but all's well now. The slam script
(without the -d for obvious reasons) now tells me:
$ slam
LAM 7.1.2b26/MPI 2 C++/ROMIO - Indiana University
n-1<75473> ssi:boot:base:linear: booting n0 (pantheon)
n-1<75473> ssi:boot:base:linear: booting n1 (euler)
n-1<75473> ssi:boot:base:linear: booting n2 (lagrange)
n-1<75473> ssi:boot:base:linear: booting n3 (taylor)
n-1<75473> ssi:boot:base:linear: finished
$
Thanks for your help Jeff. No doubt I'll be back with another stupid
question before long. And in fact, I installed OpenMPI-1.1a1r7780 last
night, so if I can get that working too, I'll send a performance
intercomparison.
Cheers,
James
