A LAM-MPI booting problem with torque-1.2.0p6 was discussed in

After a lot of debugging we have discovered the cause of the
problem being caused by a new feature "-fworking-directory"
in gcc 3.4 which caused the configuration of Torque to
generate slightly incorrect Makefiles.
If you run Torque on Redhat Enterprise Linux 4, Fedora Core 4,
Centos 4, or any other system using gcc 3.4 (or later), and
especially if you build Torque RPMs, you should look up the
resolution of the problem in the Torque mailing list:
