You'll need to look on the MPICH web site -- we really don't provide
MPICH support here. :-)

LAM has a built-in default maximum of approximately 80 processes, but
it can be increased if you really need to. However, keep in mind that
if you attempt to use shared memory for the message data transport, you
may very well run out of shared memory long before 80 processes.
