Hi Jeff, Tim and Ralf

Thanks for the suggestions -- I've managed to successfully compile the
model code now. It was indeed an issue with pointing to the correct
libraries and also some of the non-mpi libraries (e.g., NetCDF) needed
recompilation themselves.
