Removing the values from MPinc and MPlib was the Right Thing to do.
But I notice that your prior values had them listed under /usr/local,
but the mpicc that you're using is in /usr/bin. This suggests that you
might be accidentally mixing 2 different versions of LAM, which could
definitely lead to the problem you're seeing.
Do you have a /usr/local/bin/mpicc that you should be using instead?
