Ok, that is too simple to cause problems :)

(but why do not you upgrade to 10.3.9 ?)

Have you tried lamclean as suggested by Jeff Squyres ?
At least, a lamhalt/lamboot sequence should restore a correct state ?
(ok, this is maybe exagerated, but still less than rebooting)
