I believe that what happened here is that some configure tests failed,
and therefore some #define's are blank when they should not be.
Can you do two things:
1. Send the stdout and stderr from configure as well as config.log
(please tar and compress!).
2. Try the latest LAM 7.1.2 beta (b20) and see if this fixes your
problem.
Are you using the Absoft or XLF compilers, perchance?
