Unfortunately, you can't query for this information through any of the
MPI interfaces. MPI_Probe and MPI_Iprobe allow you to query for one
outstanding message at a time. If every message had a unique and known
tag then you could query for all tags using multiple MPI_Iprobes.

LAM/MPI does not provide this information. You would have to query the
remote node explicitly asking for it's amount of free memory using
MPI_Send/MPI_Recv calls. But you would have to find a way to calculate
the free memory outside of MPI.
