Note that you should not be prompted for your password. I'm guessing
that it's hanging while asking for your password (and you never type
your password), which is causing the timeout. You probably want to
setup ssh keys so that you are not prompted for a password during
lamboot.

I would highly suggest reading the tutorial in the LAM/MPI User's Guide
and the "Booting LAM" section of the LAM/MPI FAQ -- this kind of
information is explained in detail.
