Hi all,
I am building my first cluster. I am doing it just as an experiment to
see if I can actually do it. I currently have 5 IBM 300pl machines. I
have designated one as a master and 4 as slaves. I am running FreeBSD
5.3 on all the boxes. I just loaded the lam7 port on the master node
with a make install clean. However I am beginning to think I jumped the
gun. I have been reading the documentation on the lam website but I have
to admit it is a bit intimidating to try to absorb all of that
information in one fell swoop. So I am going to ask some silly questions.
1. With lam7 do I need to have NFS working between the nodes?
2. I would like to use ssh and not rsh. However I have already dome a
make install clean from the port for lam7. Do I need to rebuild it or
can I tell it to use ssh?
2a. Do I need to generate a public ssh key for the user?
3. How can I tell if lam7 is running on all the nodes?
