We got MPI 7.1.1 to run OK on mac, but when we run it on linux (2.6.5)
the MPI child process dies when we try to do any MPI operation after
forking.

Is there any special cleanup that needs to happen in a forked
child-process before it can safely use LAM/MPI on linux?

These programs aren't launched via mpiexec; they are c2c-mode. How can
we enable debug output in LAM so that we can figure out why things are
dying?
