Me too, I've been waiting for a long time now.
There is also open-mpi
http://www.open-mpi.org/
Which is a combination of lam and la among others, only problem is it's
not been released yet. Depending how urgently you want it, open-mpi may
be worth a look.
I didn't look too much into la-mpi, it's not as well documented as lam
and apparently quite buggy. Plus, while it does has MPI_THREAD_MULTIPLE
support it lacks in other areas.
