You should not have to set LAMHOME and TROLLIUSHOME in this case -
doing so will most likely cause more problems than it will solve.

Reuti is right here - just use a schema

This definitely will not do what you want. Instead, you have to setup
the user's dotfiles to make sure /usr/local/lam/bin is in their path.

If you make sure LAM is in your user's path and follow the HOWTO Reuti
posted about SGE integration, all should work for you.
