I apologize for the delay in replying. The change required to support
MPI-2 derived datatypes would be from ROMIO and not LAM. ROMIO is not
developed by the authors of LAM, and we try to stay as close to what
Argonne (the ROMIO developers) ships as possible. I am not sure if
ROMIO now properly supports MPI-2 derived datatypes, but at this point
we would be reluctant to upgrade ROMIO in the 7.1.x series for
stability reasons.
Which is a long winded way of saying that 7.1.2 will not support MPI-2
derived datatypes in ROMIO.
