So it turns out that I have egg in my face -- b14 is broken because the
libtool patch didn't apply properly which resulted in the libtool in
the tarball only sort-of supporting pgcc.
I've added better error checking to the "make a tarball" scripts so
that that doesn't happen again. I've uploaded b15 which *does* have
the patch applied properly and it seems to build shared and static
libraries with the PGI compilers properly for me (note that there are
other PGI/libtool issues, but it's "good enough" for building LAM/MPI).
Could you give b15 a whirl and see if it works for you?
