By default, the RPMs for LAM 6.5.9 used rsh instead of ssh. You can
override this behavior by setting the LAMRSH environment to "ssh"
before running lamboot.

If you can, you might want to try upgrading to a newer version of LAM.
LAM 6.5.9 is quite old, and we've added lots of bug fixes and features
since then.
