There is no way to explicitly restrict the number of processes for a
node in the LAM/MPI environment.
The "cpu" argument in the boot schema file allows you to tell the LAM
environment how many processors that a machine has, but this doesn't
need to correlate to the actual number of physical processors on that
machine. This argument is used when running your program to assist
mpirun (and lamexec) in determining how many processes to put on a
specific machine. Section 4.6.1 of the Users Guide and the manual page
for mpirun provide good discussions of how this works, and how you can
control this behavior with the "C", "N", "cX", and "nX" arguments.
