I assume that you are referring to how your replies appear in the web
mail archives.

This doesn't have anything to do with the address that you're
subscribed from -- subscribing and posting from a new address will not
fix this issue.

You can always unsubscribe any address that you have subscribed --
click on the link that is included at the bottom of every mail that is
sent across this list and follow the instructions
(http://www.lam-mpi.org/MailArchives/lam/).

If you use the daily digest, it's highly unlikely that your replies
will be threaded correctly, but it totally depends on the capabilities
of your mail client. I do not have a hotmail account, so I don't know
how good or bad it is -- I know that the pine mail reader can properly
reply to MIME digest mails so that they are threaded correctly in the
web mail archive.

The main issue is that whatever mail client you are using adds the
proper In-reply-to, References, or one of a few other SMTP header lines
in your replies. This allows our web archiver to thread messages
properly. If Hotmail does not do this, there's probably very little
that you can do about it, short of switching e-mail providers (perhaps
that's what you were referring to when you mentioned that you were
going to re-subscribe...?).
