Hi Lucas,

You should send your questions regarding to MPE to mpi-maint_at_[hidden]
or me directly.

The MPE released with mpich-1.2.6 or mpich2 stops supporting SLOG (aka
SLOG-1), instead SLOG-2 is the format for performance visualization.
SLOG-2 is much more robust and scalable than SLOG-1 and allows me to
provide tools that wasn't possible in older Jumpshots. MPE in mpich-1.2.6
and mpich2 generates only CLOG, so env variable MPE_LOG_FORMAT is not used
anymore. Once you get the clog file, use the script clogTOslog2 to
generate the clog file or use the script jumpshot to invoke Jumpshot-4
which will "read" clogfile (ie. it has a GUI logfile format convertor to
convert clog file to slog2 understood by Jumpshot-4). Jumpshot-4 has a
very detailed online manuel explaining how to use the tool if you click
on the help button. For more detailed information on MPE, you can read
the mpeman.pdf distributed with mpich-1.2.6, mpe/README or
http://www.mcs.anl.gov/perfvis. Let me know if you have more questions
on using MPE with LAM/MPI.
