Are you exporting LAMRSH to the environment? Note that it's not
sufficient to (assuming bash):
$ LAMRSH=rsh
$ lamboot ...
You need to export LAMRSH so that lamboot will see it:
$ LAMRSH=rsh
$ export LAMRSH
$ lamboot ...
