Hello,

we recently installed torque on an opteron system and sucessfully
installed lam7.0.6 in 64 bits mode with pgi 5.1 using the tm interface
and it works fine.

    The only things are :
with pgi5.1 I could use pgf90 but not pgcc for reasons already
listed in the lam archive so I used gcc in 64 bits
but appenrtly with pgi5.2 you should compile all lam
7.0.6 with pgcc

I compile torque in 32 bits and didn't try 64 bits modes.
