thanks for the response, pierre.
as usual, your response invokes more questions :)
like i said previously, i installed he same version of lam-mpi (7.0.6) on
all four machines.
how do i go about checking for compatible integers and floats?
how do i fix it if i dont have compatible integers and floats on the 64 and
32 bit machines? you mention that it is a compiler option... which i cant
seem to find in the installation guide that comes with lam-mpi.
i have a schema file with all four machines it it. i installed lam in the
same location. in fact, i used the default, 'quick' installation method of
installing lam; the lamd executable (and all the other lam/mpi executables)
are in the /usr/bin folder. which is in $PATH of all 4 machines.
all 4 machines can communicate with each other with passwordless ssh.
from either 32 bit machine, if i include one or both 64 bit machines in the
boot schema, recon gives errors indicating that it is one of the 64 bit
machines which is giving the problem. from either 64 bit machine, i can
include both 32 bit machines in the boot schema, and recon works. but if i
include the other 64 bit machine, then i get the same error i get when i
include either 64 bit machine in the 32 bit machine boot schema.
i hope this makes sense. i can capture the error output if it helps.
