Sorry, I screwed up the Makefile. I had PURIFY:=purify. Now I commented
that out and I was able to compile the program; but I was not able to run
with purify:
% gmake
...
mpicc -o a.out
When I typed "mpirun C a.out", the purify window did not pop up. It seems
the setting of LAMDCP to "purify gcc" has no effect.
