That's quite odd -- the SRPM is simply the source tarball plus the
specfile. And the specfile essentially calls "configure; make all
install".
Can you send the output of your rpmbuild command? (please compress and
attach) The only thing that I can think of is that the rpmbuild process
is somehow causing LAM's thread tests to fail, and therefore doesn't
automatically know to add -pthread.
