Hi,
This are diferent things and you don't need this configuration to run lam and
parallel jobs... to learn about nfs and nis you can search for the howtos (nis
howto and nfs howto) on the web or on the documents that come with
linux dists.
This subjects are not specific from lam or mpi, not even from parallel
computation. I would advice you to start with a simple instalation of lam
perhaps with some distributed filesystem (with nfs).
