This has nothing to do with LAM and everything to do with NFS. The NFS
client has to maintain the appearance of coherence, even if the things
(files/directories) changed in the mean time on the NFS server.
Usually NFS coupled with usage of mmap (which I think is used for
starting up processes) creates such problems; the situation might be
worsened by attribute caching; try mounting with "noac". If you don't
like this, try putting this directory on a local disk and distribute
the binary with rsync.
