This message would have been much more appropriate something like 2
years ago (of course without the reference to LAM 7.1)... VIA seems
to have dropped off from the preference list of HPC admins/managers.
Even more as you are using M-VIA which doesn't have support for most
of the recent Linux kernels and Ethernet hardware.
So how is the general stability of the M-VIA+LAM combo ? Have you run
long computational jobs (days-weeks) ? Do you have some data about
scalability improvements of real-world applications ? How is the
intranode communication implemented for SMP nodes ?
