you can now download a module (RPI) that enables LAM (7.1) to use VIA for
communication on common ethernet (10/100/1000) networks. That means better
performance where normally TCP/IP is used.
The module is available in both source and precompiled shared library format.
We distribute it in the hope that it will be useful for anyone, but without
any warranty. The sources are free and can be copied and modified or included
into any software or distribution. (both: commercial and noncommercial)
On the mentioned web page you will also find further information about the
state of the RPI as well as performance and conformance tests.
As this work is only part of a diploma thesis, and both developers left the
staff after finishing their study we can not promise to give any support but
we'll try to reply to any questions.
