checking the archive I found a few other messages on gprof problems - but not ine
I suspect that I'm doing somthing trivially stupid but can't locate it.
simple set CFLAGS/LDFLAGS to -pg and compile 7.0.6 + test app and
it all seems to work - but the output of gprof looks like:
